30lli Anniversary Closes With
Rally of Juniors in Fourth
Street Church of God
Thousands of Christian Endeavorers
throughout the world who observed
the thirty-sixth anniversary of Chris
tian Endeavor during the past week
will hold special Decision Day serv
ices to-morrow.
In many churches the pastors will
speak on special subjects relative to
Ihe observance of Christian Endeavor
week. The Endeavorers of the Har
risburg C. E. Union held a number of
rallies during the past week and their
motto is "Win with a representation
of 10,000 Endeavorers" will begin the
new year with great interest and en
thusiasm. Many new members have
joined the ranks during the past year.
Juniors I Told Rally
Many Junior Christian Endeavorers
representing the societies of this city
and surounciing towns attended a big
junior rally held at the Fourth Street
Church of God this afternoon. The
Juniors sang popular hymns with en
thusiasm and the Junior choir led by
the Rev. R. U Meisenlielder, sang
several seelotions. H. B. Macrory,
State secretary, Pittsburgh; C. C. Culp
of Gettysburg, State Junior superin
tendent, and the Rev. 10. J. Pace, re
turned missionary from Philippine
Islands, delivered interesting ad
dresses. Miss Emily Edwards, Junior
superintendent, presided.
The Endeavorers held a West Shore
Rally in the United Evangelical
Church, Lemoyne, last evening. Many
societies were represented. The Rev.
E. E. Curtis, pastor of Westminster
Presbyterian Church, this city, de
livered an address on "Vain
Special music was sung by Messrs.
Clark Blair and Frank Updegraff, of
New Cumberland and the Wormley3-
burg quartet.

The Rev. Mr. Daugherty, who has
been pastor of the local church for
two years had some experience in per
sonal work during the Nicholson and
Ilemminger campaign at Columbia,
while lie was pastor there prior to tak
ing charge here.
Successful Membership

"Victory Day" exercises will be

stimulate interest among the scholars
and the public. On the interior of the
auditorium an electrically illuminated
board depicting a red and a blue
locomotive indicated the standing of
the contesting teams. Oil the exterior
of the church an electric dial indicat
ed to the public the progress being
; made during the campaign. J. B.
Harlaclier, captain of the red team
reports 9 9 new scholars, while Cap
tain G. L. Cullmerry, of the Blues,
has 140 new scholars. The superin
tendent of the school, C. Frank Class
will give a silver loving cup as a re
ward to the individual obtaining the
greatest number of new members.
An interesting program has been
arranged, in which members of the
primary, intermediate and adult class
es will take part. The address of the
day "Victory's Responsibilities" will
be made by the Rev. James A. Wor
den, D. ]>., LL. D., of Philadelphia,
superintendent of Sabbath School
Training of the Presbyterian Church.
Dr. Worden is a figure of national
prominence in church circles, anil
widely known as a lecturer on church
and pastoral subjects, being the orig
inator of Rally Day among all denom
inations, and having introduced Chil
dren's Day in the Presbyterian
Church.
A "Get Together Social" for the
members and friends has been ar
ranged for February 16. An attrac
tive entertainment with instrumental,
vocal and elocution numbers will be
given, at which which time the super
intendents' cup will be awarded. Re
freshments in the recreation room of
the church will conclude the success
ful campaign.

The Rev. V. G. Deeper, pastor of the
Bethel Methodist Episcopal Church will
preach. Much interest has been shown
in these meetings by the members of
the Harrisburg and Steelton churches
belonging to the conference. The cam
paign opened Sunday night .January 7,
and has been conducted in each of the
colored churches during that period.
The big booster chorus under the di

MINISTER'S HOME ROBBED
Camp Hill, Pa., Feb. 3.—While Dr.
E. D. AVeigle and his wife were at
church Thursday evening robbers en
tered the residence, a short distance
from the church, and took about Jti
in money. The thieves gained en
trance by breaking a window pane. A
"birthday bowl," which is used in the
Sunday school, was taken from the
bedroom of (he pastor. This con

FUNERAL OF AGED PRIEST
Funeral services for Monsignor J.
J. Koch, rector of St. Edward's Catho
lic Church, Sliamokin, and wtdely
known here, were held this morning
at 10 o'clock with Monsignor M. M.
Hassett as celebrant of the solemn
high requiem mass. Many ( prlests
from nil parts of the diocese attended
the funeral. Burial was made in St.
Edward's ctmetery.

Castle Ravenscraig. of the Knights
of King Arthur, is the active organiza
tion formed by the boys of James
Reid's Sunday school class. The or
ganization takes its name from the
ancient castle near the boyhood home
of Mr. Reid in Scotland. The boys
nieet every other Monday night, with
AVilliam Murray as King Arthur, at
tended by Kramer Johnson as Sir Kay
(the secretary), Kenneth Bell as sen
tinel, Robert AValker as Seneschal,
George Shuey as constable, Lawrence
Zimmerman and Ross Packer as her
alds, with Mr. Reid as Merlin. The
castle will assemble next Monday
evening.
D'Avina Band Plays
Tonight at Stevens M. E.
Announcement was made to-day by
the Rev. Dr. Clayton A. Smucker, pas
tor, that the famous D'Avina band
will play to-nigl.t at Stevens Memorial
M. E. Church, Thirteenth and A r crnon
streets.
To-morrow afternoon at 3:15 the
band will give a sacred concert in the
church. Seating arrangements will
be provided for 1,000. In the eve
ning at 7:30 o'clock, Dr. Smucker will
be in charge of an evening of music,
song and reading. Miss Catherine
Kennedy, reader of the Eastern Ly
ceum Bureau, is to be on the pro
gram. She will read Henry Van
Dyke's "The Lost AVord." D'Avina's
famous band will have a big part on
the program.
The Male Chorus and Quartet
Choir will sing. Doors ivill be open

Ira P. Dean, religious work secre
tary of the P. R. R. Y. M. C. A. will
give an illustrated lecture, "The
flevelation of God." the first of a new
series in the auditorium of the asso

o'clock. The slides of this series arc
considered some of the best in tho
country on this particular subject.

MINISTER DIES
The Rev. Cyrus Y. AVeidenliammer,
65 years old, a minister of the Church
of God, died Wednesday at his home
in Rending. He served for several
years on the Linglestown, Progress,
Shope's and Mount Laurel circuit.
