APPENDIX AND TOE CUT AWAY AT SAME TIME To have one's appendix removed by the application of local anesthesia has become quite a commonplace op eration, but to have not only the ap pendix, but a toe also, cut away from one's anatomy at the same time was the unusual experience of Henry Menier, an orderly at the Harrisburg Hospital. Menier was operated upon about ten days ago for appendicitis and after the operation calmly directed the doc tors in the amputation of an offending "hammer" toe. Charging that the railroads of the country are per mitting delays to trains and overtime which would not ordinarily be per mitted In order to prove the enormous expense that would follow obedience to the Adamson law and asking whether. If the Supreme Court de clares the law either constitutional or invalid, the brotherhoods shall con tinue to wait for the eight-hour day, W. G. Lee, chief of the brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen, issued a state ment here to-day in which he said: "The railways enjoined the govern ment from enforcing the Adamson law. Additional litigation will there after very likely be started by the railways on the plea of determining "To whom does the law apply, or how does it apply?" Already the railroads are permitting delays to trains, over time made, etc., that would not be permitted under normal conditions. Law-Abiding Organizations "Recall, if you can, an instance where labor organizations have at tempted to enjoin the government from enforcing a federal statute. Such organizations are law abiding in stead of lawbreakers. Remember, the railways are not enjoining the brother hoods, but are enjoining the" govern ment. "The question Is, after the Supreme Court has said the law is or is not constitutional, shall the employes, whom President Wilson and Congress declared should have the eight-hour basic work-day, forget their request and continue to wait?" Lee denied a report that a sealed statement putting the Adamson law situation up to the men had been sent out by the chiefs of the four brother hoods. The general chairmen of the four brotherhoods will hold a meeting in Chicago to consider the situation. "I FEEL 10 YEARS YOUNGER" SHE CRIES Remarkable Recovery of Rheumatic Sufferer Brought About By Master Medicine PAIN HAS VANISHED "I have suffered for a long time with rheumatism," says Mrs. Mary Brown, of 2 7 South Court St., Har risburg, Pa., "but for the past two years the torture has been almost un bearable and I do not know what would have become of me if Tanlac had not come to the rescue and driven away those awful aches and pains." "Actually I ached all over and I believe that every muscle and joint in my body had a separate and in dividual pain. But of all, my back was the worst. Oh, how it did ache, why the pain was so intense that I had to pad my clothing in the back and I had to use a cane to get around. "Then to have Tanlac free me from this awful torture so quickly. It is really marvelous and sometimes I can hardly realize that all my aches and pains are gone. Why it makes me feel ten years younger. I feol Just grand. I do not have to use my cane any more, my appetite has returned and I can go to bed and sleep like a child." "I certainly give heart-felt thanks to Tanlac for it has made me feel better than I ever dared hope to feel again." Tablets Contain Vital Elements for Nerves, Brain and Body. A nationally known physician, in speaking of the benefits to be expected from Cadomene, the iron, phos phorous, vegetable tonic, said: "When the structures and functions of the body are in perfect health, they work without attracting atten tion. The moment that any part of the system becomes inefficient in functioning, the cry of pain, or distress, tells us all too quickly that we are being attacked by nerve and cellular weakness. Proper tonic and reconstructive means must then be resorted to as an aid to nature, and it is well known that iron, phosphorous and certain vegetable extracts yield prompt and permanent aid." And when Cadomene Tablets are directed to the nervous system, the origin of disturbance is reached, so that the grievous symp toms and distress may be quickly vanquished. When you become conscious of an unnatural condi tion, these symptoms are usually manifested. Extreme nervous. less, irritability, despondency, sick-ncrvous headache, with pains at the base of the brain and along the spinal column, sleeplessness, a coldness of extremi ties, with a listless, -unambitious attitude toward life and its successes, and an ever-present but natural desire that all things desirable should be yours.
