GOVERNOR SEES PENN MOVIES State Officials Attend Private View of Easton Celebra tion at Majestic No doubt lay in the minds of anyone who saw the William Penn Highway Easton film at the Majestic theater this morning that there were over a thousand automobiles in the parade of cars which carried visitors to the scene of the dedication of the New York Extension nt Kaator November 2. Governor Brumbaugh attended the private view, as did Commissioner Frank B. Black of the Highway De partment, Chief Engineer Uhler, Pres ident Jennings of the William Penn Highway and several score others. The first part of the Easton film shows a "bad" road. It is a piece of worn-out macadam, rutty and full of miniature lakes. The trouble ma chines and horse-drawn vehicles have in negotiating such a road is visual ized. Then comes the new concrete straightaway, eight miles in length, connecting Bethlehem and Easton. The camera man traveled in a high powered car and got over several miles of the highway. Alter that comes a view of the remarkable pro cession containing nearly 1,200 auto mobiles, each loaded to the fenders with folks going either to the Bethle hem end of the road to watch Gov. Brumbaugh dedicating the highway, or to Oakland park. There are several remarkable crowd scenes, and a posed picture in which Gov. Brumbaugh, Charles M. Schwab and E. J. Cattell, Phialdelphia city statistician, are the principal ligures. Col. Harry C. Trex ler also posed for the picture. An "added feature" of the little show this morning was 200 feet of film taken in Ebensburg in September, when the Governor's third agricultural tour stopped for lunch. Many prom inent State officials appear in this short film. The William Penn Highway next week begins the showing of its Easton films throughout Pennsylvania. Prior to the showing of the 1,050 foot exhi bited for the first time this morning there will be screened 1,200 feet show ing the actual construction work on j the Easton-Bethlehem highway. This: film was to have been shown the Gov-1 ernor to-day, but the messenger failed to arrive from Worcester, Mass. Naval Program For 1918 Costliest in U. S. History Washington, Nov. 21.
