Mexicans also improved substan tially on reports of a better outlook respecting affairs in that country. Pe troleum gaining 3Vi and American Smelting 3 points. Other strong fea tures included the principal steel stocks, coppers and zinc and various war industrials, notably Airbrake, which Increased its gain to 6 points.
