of the forenoon was one of steady
gains on an Increasing; Inquiry for
Investment issues, including prominent
rails. Union Pacific, Reading and
Lehigh Valley were higher by 2
points, with one or more for New!
\ork Central, St. Paul, Atchison and
various minor Issues of the same di
vision. The shipping group extended
its gain to 2 points for Marine pfd„
and 3% for Atlantic, Gulf and West
Indies. Coppers were 1 to 2 points
higher, with greater gains for zinc
stocks, while munitions and equip
ments also made further advances.

Information received by the Rumanian
Legation at The Hague, 250 persons, of
whom 200 were women, have been kill
ed or woundedi by German aircraft in
bombardments of Bucharest. These at
tacks continue by day and night.
The protest recently addressed bv
the Rumanian government to the

at the Rumanian Legation to relate not
only to the bombardment of Bucharest
and other open towns, but to allegations
