AUBURN'S IT NO NOW $230,000 Generous Response to Recent Appeal * of Theological Seminary Special to the Telegraph Auburn, N. Y. t Aug. 15. Almost half the $500,000 fund called for by Auburn Theological Seminary has been raised, President George B. Stewart announced. Gifts amounting to $230,- 000 have been received, practically all from among the alumni and friends. The call for half a million dollars was made by Dr. Stewart on account of the ever increasing demands in the effi cient training of ministers. The second session of the Auburn summer schools is now closing wjth a record attendance. In the putt ten days, which were devoted to the sub ject of training for Christian workers, many well-known religious and educa tional leaders have served on the faculty. STEWART K. Martin, it is al leged, in an argument over the price of some rings which he had purchased, struck Zuckerman, breaking the sales man's glasses. LONG TRIP BY AUTO Special to the Telegraph Halifax, Pa., Aug. 15.—Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Dodson and son, John, of Valley, Nebraska, and J. W. Shumaker, of Elin City, Nebraska, were guests at the home of R. A. Shumaker this week. The Dodsons made the entire trip of 1.600 miles here by automobile and did not have an accident of any kind on the entire journey. Mr. Shumaker made the trip east by train.
