cline in the first hour, coal products
and Alcohol rallying 7 and 5% points
respectively, with material recoveries
elsewhere.
Crucible and Baldwin were among
the few specialties to rise above ad
% erse speculative conditions, showing
moderate gains. Later, rails and
United States Steel shaded under in
creased pressure with declines of 2%
to 5 points in shipping shares. Mexi
cans also lost ground. Petroleum fall
ing four points. An opening rate of
o per cent, for call money accompan
ied the fresh selling before noon.
Heavy offerings of Anglo-French 5s
featured the bond market.
