In the recent grammar school track meet and field meet, the Lincoln relay team finished first, winning the
championship for that school. The time was four minutes, five seconds. This (cam also includes several record
breakers. With the exception of Shearer, all will enter Tech high school this fall. In the above picture, read
ing from left to right, these athletes are: Shearer, McCord, Garner, Beck, who broke the shot put record; Craig, a

Marysville, Pa., June 23.—Important
game's are scheduled In the Dauphin-
Perry league to-morrow. The re.ju
j venated Duncannon team will line-up
against the champions at Seidel Park,
J Marysville; Newport plays at Halifax,
and Millersburg at Dauphin. Marysville
and Newport are tied for first and sec
ond places: Halifax and Dauphin for
third and fourth places and Duncan
; non and Millersburg for the cellar, so
much depends on the outcome of these
games.
One of the games that will be watch
ed with great interest will be the Dun
cannon-Marysville game. The Dun
i cannon team has signed new players.

AUTO ACCIDENT STOPS GAME
Hagerstown, Md., June 23. Bill
King, pitcher; Tex Meyers, heavy slug
ging first sacker, and Jack Morrison,
manager, of the Frederick baseball
club of the Blue Ridge League, were
injured yesterday on the road between
M'ddletown and Boonsboro when an
automobile which was transporting
them to Martinsburg, W. Va., for a
game tumbled over an embankment
on South Mountain. King sustained a
dislocated hip, Morrison a badly
sprained arm and Meyers probably a
fractured arm.

Harrisburg's crew In the New York
State League got going yesterday, but
went to the bad in both games at
Syracuse. Mike Q'Nell's chasers
handed out. scores, 4 to 1 and 1 to 0.
Both games were interesting argu
ments between pitchers.
In the first game errors were fac
tors in the slip up. llelfrich show
ed speed and puzzlers but his support
at critical times Was ragged, It was
the same story In the second battle,
costly errors figuring at the wrong
time. The team remains in Syracuse
to-day.
Other Close Battles
Elmira won a close game from Wil
kes-Barre, score 5 to 4. The Barons
lacked timely hits. Scranton made it
two straight from Binghamton. Bill
Coughlin's team putting up a brilliant
fielding and hitting game. Albany
had the best of Utica. in a double
header. Wild pitches and errors

for the semiprofessional championship

Harrisburg plays at Syracuse again
to-day and will go to Utica to-morrow
for three games. Cockill's crew will
be home Tuesday tor the opening game
at Island ParK. Wilkes-Barre will be
the attraction and elaborate prepa
rations are being made for an old-time
baseball opening.
Secretary Frank Seiss, of the Har
risburg club, is putting out coupon
books and signing up stockholders.
Book No. 1 went to Chief of Police
Thomas J. Zeil. The latter is proud
of his purchase and is boosting ti : the

The Wilmington and Pottsvllle teams
in the Atlantic league have been
dropped. Backers are not pleased
over the action ot the league in putting
them out of business in short order.
The desire is to keep the four teams
in operation until July 4.
The Phillies dropped both games to
Brooklyn yesterday. The Dodgers
climbed all over the Moran crowd. It
was a case of hitting the ball hard in
both battles. Brooklyn now has a
strong grip on first place in the Na
tional League race.
Hummelstown will journey to New
Cumberland to-morrow for a game.
This contest is part of the series for
the semiprofessiortal and amateur
championship. Hummelstown has been
going a pace that makes this aggre
gation strong contenders for honors.
The Trainmen A. C. will have an
early afternoon game to-morrow at
Sixth and Division streets. West Fair
view will be the attraction and the
battle opens at 2 o'clock. Players are
requested to report at 1.30,
The Brelsford A. C. is anxious for a;
game for to-morrow. Owing to a can
cellation by Duncannon, the local team
has nothing on, and any strong team
will be accommodated.

PEW'S COACH SIGNS UP

New York. June 23.—Eawson Rob
ertson yesterday officially was signed
as coach of the Pennsylvania track
'teams and trainer of the football
squads, to succeed Dr. George Orton.
A contract was drawn up by the Uni
versity of Pennsylvania authorities and
h. C. Madeira, 3d, chairman of the
track committee, met Rohertson at
noon to-day by appointment and had
him affix his signature to the papers.
Robertson will stay In this city and
prepare the Irish-American A. C. for
the national 'hampionship at Newark
next September.
