There is a business in Harrisburg of
which the general public hears but

! Black and Sons began the business of
hauling building materials a little
more than two years ago and because
. of their constant attention to business, j
the excellency of the services render
ed, the fact that they are willing to
keep their delivery service working
, both day and night when necessity
demands, have aJI tended to give the
business a good solid foundation upon
which foundation has rapidly been 1
added order after order until the I

tions. In 1901 Gohl's Paint Supply
Company was organized for the pur
i pose of selling paint supplies. In
j 1 904 Harry Bruaw was taken into
j partnership under the name of Gohl
<Sr Bruaw. Mr. Bruaw having come to
Harrisburg from York Haven and
learned his trade with his uncle, I
I Mathias G. Baker.

of the work accomplished by this firm j

i list of the jobs completed by them. 1
The largest painting contract executed i
Iby this firm was when painting the
longe3t and heaviest steel bridge in the I
United States for the Pennsylvania;
Hailroad, crossing the Susquehanna I
riyei between Columbia and Wrights
i vlile. This Job required the services
of 105 men; 65,000 pounds of graphite
were used and 56 barrels of oil. The j
machine shop, planing mill and power <
bouse and the large paint house for:
| the Reading system at Rutherford |
were painted inside and out; the Peo- |
pie's bridge when first built and twice I
'after that; the Pennsylvania traction;
power house on South Cameron street
