Emjnent scientists all over the country declare her the most perfectly | formed and healthiest girl in the i world. She was put through the test with 20,000 girls, representing all na tions. and won the much coveted dis tinction. Margaret very graciously divulges her secrets on health and body de velopment. She is anxious for all girls I to follow her methods and guarantees j that if her are carried outj FRIDAY EVENING, one's personality will increase about 100 per cent. Margaret and her gracious mother, who is with her, are not faddists. Simplicity is their motto. In fact, Margaret might well be called "Little Miss Simplicity." She does not force you to a diet. She does not prohibit the stout girl from drinking milk. On the other hand, Margaret says: "The stout girl may drink all the milk she wants. I drink a large quan tity every day. But—she must exer cise faithfully and vigorously. She may eat the things she likes, too, if dhe will only exercise in the morning and before retiring." Then, too, listen to what this re markable young miss—for she's only sixteen—says about athletics and gym nasiums: "The game of basketball is a crime. It creates havoc with the physique. The gymnasium should be abolished. 1 ] never had an Indian club or a pair of j dumbells in my hands. Take your own exercise In your room before a mirror. That is all the gymnasium you need." Margaret has never worn a corset and states that she never will. Her remarkable Hgure offsets all claims that, the corset is indispensable to the good-looking figure. Father of Twins Asks License For Carriage Olympia, Wash.—A man in Van couver has a motor-driven baby car riage and has applied to the Secretary ]of State for a license to operate it. He ' wrote as follows: "A short time ago I took out a I license for a motor attachment for aj HAKRISBURQ TELEGRAPH bicycle, and now I want to transfer that motor to a baby carriage that I purchased when twins were born into my family. May I do this without tak ing out a new iicense?" T. M. Howell, Secretary of State, in his reply to the proud though anxious father, replied that the transfer would be allowed. Two Kinds of Water From the Same Well Jacksonville, Fla.—ln the investi gation of the wells and underground waters of Florida the geologists of the United States Gologolical Survey have noted many Interesting things. Among them is a well at Welaka, ou the St. John's river, from which two kinds of water are obtained. Xfcis well Is 309 feet deep. The well JUNE 16, 1916. was first drilled to 160 feet and from this depth ordinary "sulphur" water was obtained. The drill was then car ried to a depth of EO9 feet, where it encountered a strong mineral water ] having a disagreeable, salty taste. In | order to use both kinds of water an j inner tubing was run nearly to the I bottom of the well. Both this and the | outer casing were connected with pumps, so that ordinary water and mineral water can be pumped at the same time. A favorite joke played on the visitors is to give them a drink of the weaker water in the first glass and to replace It with the brine in the second.
