low priced rails became the foremost
feature later Western Maryland com
mon and preferred, Wheeling and
Lake Erie, and Western and Wiscon
sin Central rising 1 to 4 points. The
movement In certain of these stocks
was attributed to definite causes, but
otherwise the inquiry seemed to be
chiefly speculative.
Louisville and Nashville rose 2% to
Its best price in almost two years.
Shipping shares, Mexicans and other
specialties became more heavy at mid
day, with pressure against Steel, but
Beet Sugar increased its gain. Bonds
were steady.
