?,wr OF PULPIT AND PEW IN HARRISBURG CHILDREN'S DAY IN THE CHURCHES Special Services For Youngst ers in Many Sunday Schools Tomorrow City churches to-morrow will devote the services almost entirely to children and in some instances the boys and girls of the Sunday schools are to have ' f harge of the programs to be given. Elaborate programs have been an nounced including recitations, songs and other features, all to be given by children. "Children's Day in China" will fea ture the night service in the Fourth Street Church of Christ and costumes representing foreign nations will be used. Orchestra music has been ar ranged for and the offering will be given to the Foreign Christian Mis sionary Society of Cincinnati. A program will be given at 7 o'clock in the evening at the First United Brethren Church, Enola. The Rev. D. M. Oyer, pastor, will speak in the morning. The Rev. Dr. Clayton A. Smucker, of Stevens Memorial Methodist Church, will speak to-morrow morning at 10.45 o'clock on "The Church and Child hood." Baptism of children will be included in the service. Sunday school will be held at 9.45 o'clock, but in the evening the children will take charge and present an entertaining program. , A number of other churches have | made similar arrangements, among them the Ridge Avenue Methodist, Fifth Street Methodist, Calvary, West minster, Iqamanuel, Olivet and Pine Street Presbyterian, Second Baptist, Augsburg, Trinity and Christ Lutheran and Second and St. Andrew's Re formed. HARRISBURG TELEGRAPH JUNE 10, 1916 CHRISTIAN ENDEAVOR PRESIDENTS IN ALL PARTS OF PENNSYLVANIA BOOMING GREAT CONVENTION TO BE HELD HERE IN JULY Dr. Clarence H. Chain, State Presi dent. Christian Endeavor leaders are com pleting arrangements with many dele gates throughout the State for the big State C. E. convention to be held in this city during the week of July 11- 14. The local general convention committee has issued several thou sand bulletins with convention infor mation and is kept busy answering many inquiries concerning the big week's meeting. Prof. John F. Kob, chairman of the Entertainment Commitee, assisted by a hustling corps of workers, are busy making assignments for 1,500 dele gates who are expected to register at the convention. The committee chair man urges that the delegates to the convention send in their names at an early date so that they can be assign ed to places of entertainment. All persons desiring to entertain delegates should report to the chairman at once. State Secretary H. B. Macrory is touring the State in the interest of the convention, and much information is being given to Endeavorers at county and other conventions. E. convention to be held in this city July 11-14: "Only five weeks until the sessions of the State Christian Endeavor con vention will open in this city. June 25, has been set by the General Convention Committee for pas tors of the various churches to preach a sermon on "Young People's Work and the State 0. E. Convention." Many Christian Endeavor Societies are hustling to have their State con tributions raised for the expense of the State C. E. convention.
