Three Times on Track

first near-accident In practice at the
Speedway In preparation for the May
30 300-mlle race was staged by Gil
Anderson In his initial spin in his new t
Premier -car. Anderson brought his
new mount to the track and the first
time around reeled oft better than SO
miles an hour, which la the qualifying
time. He did about ten laps, then
skidded in oil on the bricks, and pro
ceeded to electrify the crowd of spec-1
tators by turning completely around
three times. Jamming his rear wheel
hub against the cement retaining wall,
then righting his car and proceeding
on his way with apparent imooncern.

is a Peugeot chassis with a Sunbeam

The annua! grammar school meet of
this city will take place next Thurs
day June 1. on Municipal Athletic
Field at Island Park. The entry list
this year totals tS2 athletes, repre
senting: sixteen grammar schools. The
preliminary heats to the 100-yard dish
will he called at 2 o'clock. Compe
tition this year will he keen and new
records are anticipated.
