THE REV. T. S. WILCOX
The Rev. T. S. Wilcox, oC Mount
Union, will arrive here in a few days
to take charge of the Baughman Me
morial Methodist Church, New Cum
berland. where he will succeed the
Rev. J. V. Adams, who was appointed
to the Milton Methodist Church at the
recent Central Pennsylvania Meth
odist Conference.
The Rev. Dr. Wilcox is widely known
here and was a former resident of the
city. He was in charge of the Meth
odist Episcopal hook room in this city
for a number of years.
While in the city I)r. Wilcox or
ganized the Sunday school of the pres
ent Camp Curtin Memorial Church,
then known as the Curtin Heights Sun
day School. Later the church was or
ganized and the Rev. Dr. A. S. Faslck,
now superintendent of the Harrisburg
district, was appointed the first pastor.
Dr. Wilcox is a graduate of Dick
inson College and lias been honored
with the following degrees: Bachelor
of arts, master of arts and doctor of
divinity. His work in the ministry
has been extensive and he has been in
charge of several of the larger
churches in the Central Pennsylvania
Conference. He has served as superin
tendent of the Williamsport district of
the conference for six years and was
delegate to the general conference of
the church in 1904 and 1908. He has
been pastor of the Mount Union church
for several years.

Philadelphia Christian Endeavorers
have enthusiastically adopted Dr.
Clark's "Campaign For Millions," and
the lookout committee is working
earnestly to secure Philadelphia's
quota of fifty new societies and five
thousand new Endeavorers. Many
societies are visited, where enthusiasm
is stirred and new societies have been
organized by the "Flying Squadron"
composed of live Endeavor workers.
The Quiet Hour Committee set the
goal for 1,500 new comrades and re
cently reached the grand total of
2,423, covering seven districts in the
city.
Philadelphia has 222 young people's
and senior societies and report titty
eight new societies in all divisions
| since July, 1914. The city union re
ceived from individuals and societies,
$2,074.54 for headquarters building
| fund at Boston.
; "Harrisburg, July 1916" holds a
prominent place in the minds of many
Endeavorers and clubs are being
formed, hoping thereby to assure a
large delegation, under the leadership
of W. G. McHenry, who is the hust
ling president.
Alfred W. Bowman, of Philadelphia,
: superintendent of the transportation
department of the Pennsylvania C. E.
Union, will soon advertise rates for
delegates and make necessary arrange
ments with railroads for accommo
dation of persons desiring to attend
the State convention at Harrisburg.

ACTIVITIES OF A WEEK
At the morning service at Pine
Street Presbyterian Church to-morrow
the theme of the sermon by the Rev.
Dr. Lewis S. Mudge will be "The
Keeper of the Keys." The choir will
sing the anthem, "I Beheld and Lo!"
In the evening the organist, Frank
McCarrell, will play the following
numbers at the organ recital at 7.15
o'clock: Grand Chorus in D, Guil
niant: "Forest Vespers," Johnston;
March for Church Festival, Best.
The series of sermons on "The Crisis
of the Cross" will be continued, the
subject for the evening being "Tins
Summons of the Sanhedrin." The
choir will sing "Is It Nothing To You?"
and Mrs. ('ox will sing "Gutlisemanc."
A service preparatory to the sacra
ment of the Lord's Supper will be
held in the church Wednesday evening
at 7.30 o'clock. The theme for thought
will be "Our Regnant Lord." The sac
rament will be administered on Sun
day morning, April 2, at the morning
service. <>n Friday evening the third
of the women's mission study groups
will be held. The topic of the lecture
will be "China."
