IN >IK MORI AM
IN sad and loving remembrance of
our dear parents, who departed this
life six years ago.
Ellas Boyer, died February 5,'1910
Mary Ann Boyer, died February 11, 1910. |
Two precious ones from us have gone.
Two voices we loved are stilled.
Two places are vacant in our home
Which never can be filled.
Although father is absent from us,
And six years have lied V
Since we stood by his bed in sorrow
And knew that our father was dead.
Mother was tired and weary.
Weary with aches and pains.
Put by the needle and rocker.
She will never need them again.

Rumored Shortage of
Dyestuffs Is Confirmed
New York, Feb. 11.—The statement
:of Dr. Thomas H. Norton, dyestuff
specialist of the Department of Com
merce, that 15,000 tons of colors wern
i being made in the United States, about
! half of the consumption in this coun
] try before the war, is contradicted in.
I a report by Dr. J. Merritt Matthews,
i chemical expert, of the textile indus
| tries. This report has been embodied
| in a letter to Secretary of Commerce
! Redfleld and is signed by all the indus
j tries affected by the dyestuff shortage.
Dr. Matthews concludes from liis in
vestigation that only 6,500 tons of dye
stuffs are now produced in this coun
try and that this amount is composed
of only a few colors, mostly black
dyes. Of the majority of colors used
in wool, silk and cotton dyeing abso
lutely none is being made in the United
States.
