Co. $27,000 Special to The Telegraph Washington, Nov. 16.—A decision of the greatest importance, strengthening the hands of the interstate commerce commission in its efforts to regulate the railroads, was given yesterday by the United States Supreme court, which affirmed a decision of the Penn sylvania Federal court*. awarding damages of 127,000 to W. F. Jacoby & Co., of Philadelphia, against the Pennsylvania Railroad. Discrimination in furnishing freight cars had been charged, Jacoby & Co. had compluined to the Interstate com- Inierce commission. The commission found there had been discrimination, and ordered the railroad to pay $21.- 094.39. with interest, the total being $27,000. Instead of complying with the order the railroad sought to nullify the power of the commission by refusing to pay. and the company was forced to sue under act to regulate commerce, in the Federal district court for East ern Pennsylvania. A full verdict was rendered by the court, and the rail road appealed case to the Third Cir cuit Court of Appeals, the matter fin ally coming before the Supreme court. R. R.
