Carlisle Plans to Give
Returned Tax to Hospital

Carlisle, Pa., Nov. 10.—This town is
considering a unique plan for the use
of the anthracite coal tax which op
erators have announced will be re
turned to the dealers and by them to
the consumers wherever possible. Such
would be the amount of work en
tailed in an equitable distribution that
a proposition has been made and is
meeting with much favor that the en
tire amount, which It is estimated
would be over $5,000, be given as a
fund to the Carlisle Hospital, now
building, for the establishment of a
room or for other purposes, the sum
to be classed as a gift from the town.

Botanist Dies at Mt. Joy

Mount Joy, Pa., Nov. 10. Henry S.
Brubaker, 80 years old, whose work as
a botanist is known throughout the
State, died yesterday, at his home, in
Rapho township, two miles east of
Mount Joy. During the last fifteen
years lie gathered specimens for the
State's leading colleges and also for
the State authorities. He recently
wrote a book of 150 pages on the his
tory of the Brubaker family, which is
having a wide circulation.

been sunk. The Clan MacAlister, 4,835
tons gross was owned in Glasgow. She

FOG CAUSES WRECK

Columbia. Pa., Nov. !>. A dense
fog, which prevailed in this section of
Lancaster county yesterday morning,
was responsible for a wreck at Mount
vine, when a trolley car crashed into
C. K. Herr's milk wagon and com
pletely demolished it. The driver was
found under the fender of the car. but
was not seriously hurt. The horse was
slightly injured and the milk wagon
demolished.
