ANNIVERSARIES • ■■ l CHURCH DEBT OF S9OO SUBSCRIBED Brethren Congregation at Millersburg Contemplates Many Improvements ERECTING PARSONAGE Survey Made For Swimming Pool to Be Built Along Ship pen Run at Millersburg By Special Correspondence Millersburg, Pa., Oct. 2.—Debt of about S9OO remaining on the United Brethren Church was fully subscribed for at the church services last Sun day. This congregation has grown from a handful of members a few years ago to about 300 at present. There is now in course of erection a new parsonage on the rear of the church lot and it is said that in _th p near future, they will build a large ad dition to the church. A survey was made recently for a swimming pool along Shippen Run, near Race street, to be 45x125 feet. Dr. Rickert who has the matter in charge, does not know whether the work will be started on the concrete structure this Fall or in the Spring. J. A! Seller, who was injured about the legs when .the Buffalo Flyer struck a wagon at the North street crossing of the Pennsyl vania railroad several weeks ago. is said to be improving. Ed. Harper, living in Pine street, while out in the vallev on Saturday, was suddenly seized with an attack of lumbago and had to be brought to his home by conveyance. He is improving.—Miss Jennie Wetzler. who has been a pa tient at the Mont Alto Sanatorium since last Spring, was brought to her home in Millersburg Tuesday. Reception Given to Aged Members of Congregation By Special Correspondence Dum-annon, Pa.. Oct. 2.—Asbury Methodist Episcopal Church save its annual "Grand Army of the Church" reception on Saturday last. All mem bers and friends of the church who are sixty years of age and over were invited. Charles Haas, in his auto, brought those who could not walk to the church. A special program was arranged, consisting of music: and an address by the pastor, the Rev. Wil liam Willis Sholl. Mrs. Ada L. Reem sang a soio entitled, "[•'ace to Face," accompanied by Miss Edna Mader. Old hymns were sung by the congre gation.
