McMahon, chief of the Erie fire department, died er.rly to-day from injuries received two weeks ago in the Mill i reek flood. Chief McMahon whle attempting a rescue in the flood area was swept away and for a time his name was listed with the dead. Several hours later he was found floating in a mass of wreckage and taken to a hospital. He was severely injured and a few days ago developed typhoid-pneu monia.
