TIME FOR CAMP, GIHLS
Canvas Will Be Stretched on Mo
Cormick's Island For 39 Camp
ers Tomorrow Morning
Oh, joy, girls—g«t this!
McCormlck's Island camp opens to
morrow morning.
With the arrival to-day of Miss
Ruth Little, the new camp instruc
tor, plans were practically completed
for the annual outing of small girls
on the Island under the jurisdiction
of the city park department. Miss
Little visited the camping grounds this
afternoon with Park Commissioner M.
Harvey Taylor and Assistant Superin
tendent Hoffert and looked over tha
ground with a view to putting into
practice at an early date some of the
plans she hnd brought down from the
Sargent's girl camp in New Hamp
shire.
"Until I see the grounds and get
a little information as to the situation
generally, I really would prefer not
to talk about plans," said Miss Little
.smilingly to-day. "We're going to \
camp this afternoon for the purpose, I j
understand."
Some thirty odd small ladies will c
go Into camp from the Reservoir play
grounds It is understood and to-day 1
there was much hustling about of i
mammas and mere grown up sisters s
and a digging into wallets aji'l pocket
books by mere papas and grown up '
brothers—so as to get the young sister
ready for the outing.
The camp grounds are in ship-shape
and it Is just possible that before the
camping season ends, a tennis court
will be established on the island.
