Steel's ascent to a new record was the
feature of to-day's early market. The
stock opened at 158, & three point ad
vance and within a point of its pre
vious best. From that figure it ad
vanced in lots of 100 shares to 162.
Other war specialties were fairly
strong, advancing a point or more,
and coppers scored some gains. In
