Depression Arising From Situation
Between U. S. and Germany
Is Passing
New York. May 15. Stocks made
very material recoveries in to-day's
fsrly dealings from the severe decline
of the preceding session. The depres
sion arising from the situation be
twen Washington and Berlin seemed
to have given place to a feeling of
quick assurance. Gains of one to three
points were quite general, with war
specialties again In the lead. Invest
ment Issues participated in substantial
measure. The local market derived ad
ditional encouragement from
where Americans were mostly firm.
