(g> In the erection, alteration or repair of any building or structure, the owner or owners thereof shall place, or cause to be placed, In accordance with the directions of tho City Forester, such guards around all nearby trees in the streets as shall effectually prevent injury to such trees. (li) No person shall pour salt water or deleterious matter upon any high way as to Injure any tree planted or growing thereon. (i) All leaks In gas pipes or mains 1 that may occur within a radius of forty feet of any tree shall be effectually re paired and stopped by the owners of c such pipes or mains within five days after receipt of notice from the City Forester. BREAK ALL RECORDS Trying to Boost Number of Cars to 135; 124 Trophies Received Already Preliminary reports on the three day Publicity run of the llarri3bui'K | Motor club May 10, 11 and 12 through Eastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware, indicate that it will be the largest auto run ever held in this country. Participation of 100 cars is fully expected and efforts are being made to secure 135 entrants. The Quaker City Motor club of Philadel phia now holds the record fitli 134 cars which took part in a run several years ago. Trophies already received by J. Clyde M.vton, secretary of the club number 124. and many more are ex pected before the time of the run, more than a month hence. From Wil mington, Del.. 15 silver cups have been sent and from West Chester, Lancaster, Ocean' City and Sea Isle 1 City, ten trophies each have been of fered. The Chamber of Commerce of Wilmington will present every one of the 500 or more passengers in the run with a souvenir, giving each lady a pin bearing the coat of arms of the city and each watch fob with a similar design. The preliminary plans for the run are in the hands of George D. Proud who has covered the route and has secured the pledges of trophies from various cities along the route. The purpose of the run is to advertise Har risburg and to allow the progressive organizations in the various cities cov ered a chance to advertise their cities in turn to the Harrisburgers. Mr. Proud has already met with a num ber of the Boards of Trade and Cham ber of Commerce boards and details are being arranged for the en tertainment of the Harrisburgers. Prohibition Overshadows All British Questions By Associated Press London, April 2. 11.55 A. M.- —-The attention of the British public is to day continued on the question of ab stinence. For the moment it has over shadowed the war. That some drastic measures are con templated is beyond question but the public is divided in opinion as to whether the prohibition is to be total, or whether the consumption of alco holic liquors will be permitted under sharp control. M.—Although the police investigation of the history of Raymond Swoboda, charged with being responsible for the fire aboard the steamer La Touraine, has brought out additional facts regarding him, he remains something of a mystery. One tug, tho Patuxent. was moored at the Eitel's stern. The other, the Reno, tied up on the opposite side of the pier. Shortly before their arrival Collector Hamilton, with a parly of officials, boarded the Eitel. Efforts to ascertain the mission of the tugs and officials were unavailing, United States artillerymen with bayonetted rifles turning back inquir ers fifty yards from tho entrance to the pier. Lieutenant-Commander Svarz, United States Navy, was among the govern ment representatives at the pier. Searching For Parents of Baby Found in Stream No inquest will be held by Coroner ' Eokinger over the body of the baby girl that was found by boys In a stream at Twenty-second and Swatara streets yesterday morning. The coroner said, after an investi gation, that the child's death was caused by premature birth. He said ho did not know why the body was placed in the stream. Who the infant's parents are is yet to be discovered. No clue of any sort has been found to help establish tho identity of the body. STRIKE IN SUGAR FIELDS New York.
