AN ORDINANCE To authorise a contract with the Har risburg Light & Power Company of the City of Harrisburg, for the light ing of the streets, highways and pub lic places in the Borough of Paxtang. Section 1. Be it ordained by the Council of the Borough of Paxtang, and It is hereby ordained by authority of the same, that a contract for light ing the streets, highways and public places of the Borough of Paxtang be and the same is authorized with the Harrisburg Llgilt and Power Company of the City of Harrisburg. in accordance vltli the following specifications, to wit: 1. Said contract shall be for the term of five (5) years, beginning on the Ist day of January, 1915. 2. Said Company shall furnish all the poles, wires and other appliances necessary for installing at least twelve (12) 100 C. P. 6.6 amp. Type "C" Street Series Mazda lamps equipped with D'Oller Radial Wave Reflector, and erect and construct the same at such places in, on and along the streets, highways and public places of the Bor ough as the Borough Council shall by resolution designate. All poles to be of chestnut wood located along curb line and all wires feeding lamps will be the areal or overhead rystem. Lamps will be attached to brackets, brackets to be at least 10 ft. in length and attached to poles at a height to be decided upon by the Lighting Com mittee or the entire Councllmantc body. 3. Said Company shall furnish, in slall and maintain said minimum num ber of twelve (12) lamps, and any ad ditional number that the Borough may desire, for the aforesaid term of five (5) years at and for the following rate per annum, viz: , For each and every 100 C. The bills for said lighting shall be paid monthly by the Borough Treas urer, after the approval thereof by the Borough Council, at the rate hereinbe fore stipulated for each lamp. United States Steel shares were again the center of Interest In to-day's stock market. Steel Common declined at the opening to 43, its new minimum, a fall of five points from yesterday's quotations, on offer ings of 1,900 shares. This was follow ed by another lot of 500 and several 100 share lots at 43. The preferred stuck attain sold off to within a frac tion of its minimum. Other active stocks, including Pacifies, St. l'aul and Heading, were lower, but the list made general recovery after the absorption ot initial offerings. The London market showed numer ous advances for Americans, but re fusal of the London Rxehinlt to re duce the minimum price on Steel caused the automatic withdrawal of that stock abroad.
