Residents Threaten Legal
Action If Dump Nuisance
Isn't Immediately Abated
Further complaints of flying waste
paper from the river bank between
Kelker and Maolay streets were made
to the Bureau of Health and Sanita
tion to-day.
For the last few weeks the Penn
sylvania Reduction Company by per
mission of the health authorities have
been dumping so-called "clean ashes"
<<n the bank to help fill out the
slopes. Instead of ashes however the
| reduction company permits waste pa
per to be dumped on the ground;
[ consequently the slightest puff of wind
Alls the air with unsightly, unsanitary
[paper that litters tlio surrounding
yards and lawns like a regular dump.
! Vr> -'My the attention of Dr. J.
M. i"h. the health officer, has
bet to this condition and twice
hi il "d the reduction company
to .. t. The latter, however ap
parently paid little heed to his instruc
tions. Residents in the city threaten
ilcrul nciion unless the conditions are
| remedied.
