Xw York, Dec. 23.—Early trailing:
in to-day's stock market indicated a
continuance of the recent dull and
narrow movement. A majority of the
active Issues were unchanged or at
fractions above and below yesterday's
closing. Heading was the only stock 1
to move more than a slight fraction,
gaining 5-8, which it soon lost. Steel
was a trifle lower at the outset, but
recovered on denllngs which included
a block at 1,000 shares. Otherwise
the overturn was in small lots and by
the end of the first thirty minutes busi
ness fell away to minor proportions
