WILSON MIS NO PLAN
FOB EXTRA SESSION
October 15 Tentatively Agreed
Upon as Day of Adjournment
of Present Congress
By Associated Press
Washington, Oct. 6.—Outlining the
legislative program for the remain
der of the session of Congress, Presi
dent Wilson told callers to-day that
no extra session in November was con
templated. He added that only some
extraordinary emergency would neces
sitate an extra session following ad
journment of this session.
The President said the war tax bill,
the Clayton anti-trust bill and the
Alaska coal leasing would complete
the Important work for the present
session and that when these bills were
disposed of he saw no reason why an
adjournment should not be taken. Oc
tober 15 is the date tentatively agreed
upon.
Asked about threats by Represen
tative Henry, of Texas, to fight against
an adjournment until cotton relief
measures were passed, the President
said that the membership of the House
rather than Mr. Henry would decide
when to adjourn.
For the next session the program
as outlined by the President will in
clude the Alexander ship purchase
bill, the Philippine bill, the general
leasing bill, the general land bill, the
general dam bill and the usual appro
priation hills.
Regarding the Presidential primary
bill which he favors, the President said
to-day that he had several conferences
on the subject though It will be a
great complexity in framing the de
tails in order not to conflict with State
■ lection laws. He declared it would
j ne difficult to complete the legislation
'this Congress but that he» was still at
work on the subject.
The President said he did not think
it necessary to act on the the safety
at sea convention during the present
session. The Reyburn securities issue
bill ailso probably will go over until
the next session.
