UNITED EWGELIU I
CHURCH IS GROWING
Bishop Fouke, Formerly of This
City, Here on Business
Trip
Remarkable growth in the United
Evangelical Church of the United
States is shown by figures furnished by
Bishop W. H. Fouke, of Naperville, 111.,
formerly of this city. Bishop Fouke is
on a business visit here, having just
come from the Pittsburgh Conference
of the Church at Somerset, Pa.
The Bishop's figures show that dur
ing the last year 5,745 new members
were admitted to the church and that
there were more than 30,000 conver
sions to the Evangelical faith. The
Bishop says that the publishing inter
ests of the church, which are centered
in Harrlsburg. missionary and church
extension work and in Sunday school
development have all proved remark
ably successful. Millions have been
spent by the church for these purposes
