AT PAXTAXG
The vaudeville show at Paxtang for
this week's bill have one of the mist
distinguished headliners that has play
ed the town In a long while. Arthur
Geary, known as the Red Huzzar. and
formerly leading man with New York's
great mfisleal comedy success, "The
Pink Latfy," wil head the park bill. Mr.
Geary has but recently made his en
trance Into vaudeville. The success of
his venture was instantaneous. Man
ager Davis considers himself more than
fortunate in being able to present so
Illustrious a star before the patrons,
as stars in Mr. Geary's class arc seldom
seen outside of the big $2 attractions.
Another act appearing on this week's
bill that Is worthy of special mention
Is the Seven Castaluccas, a Mexican
musical offering that has met with
great success in every American City
where they have played.
The rest of the acts appear to be
above the average and the whole should
make a vaudeville performance of con
siderable merit.
King Kelly wil make his first ascen
sion of the week at the park this even
ing and promises to start his engage
ment with some spectacular stuff that
will make his many Harrisburg friends
sit up and take notice. The King is a
wee bit jealous of the success made
with Bergus' aeroplane flights at the
park, and says he will go the Imlt to
break the airman's record.—Advertise

COLONEL R. M. THOitfPSW
New York, July 13. —Colonel R. M.
Thompson, president of the American
Olympic committee, returned from
Paris July 3, on the Mauretania. He
was a delegate to the congress which
sat in Paris from June 13 to June 23
to arrango rules for the Olympiad
next year in Berlin. The changing of
the rules was a delicate matter, but'
Colonel Thompson said it was accom
plished without a hitch.
"International rules have been es
tablished," said Colonel Thompson,
"and new sports provided for the
Olympiad. For this reason there will
be two meets, the first in February,
which will give an opening for skating
and skieing and other winter sports.
Rugby football will he a new feature
in the latter games."

THE LAST WORD TN PRECAUTION*
Two friends boarded a great trftns-
Atlantic liner and set sail for Cher
bourg. One was a Good Fellow. The I
other was a Niggardly Man. The first
night out, they went to their state
room.
"Say, Bob," said the Niggardly
Man, "I wish you'd step out ■on deck
while I undress."
"That's a remarkable request," ob
jected the Good Fellow. "Why have
you developed this streak of bashful- j
ness at this late day? I never saw |
any signs of it before."
"Never mind about that," said the i
Niggardly Man. "You get out!"
After a long and acrimonious argu
ment, the Good Fellow went out on
deck and stayed half an hour. When
he returned to the stateroom, the Nig
gardly Man was stretched out on the
