The movement became confused this afternoon, high class stocks Improving while selling of the Gould group increased. Missouri Pacific fell to 14%, a new low, and the 4 per cent, collateral and 5 per cent, convertible bonds lost four and five points, respectively. Unfavorable re ports concerning Missouri Pacific were current, but failed to attract more than passing attention. New Haven repeat ed Its recent low price of 63% and Chesapeake and Ohio also was heavy. American Smelting was the strongest feature, rising over two points, chiefly on short coverings.
