South western, Pfd., broke from 60%, the price at which the last sale was made several months ago, to 43. The common lost 2%. Augustin Rodriguez, another of the Mexican delegates, was emphatic in his statement that the Mexican dele gates were not getting ready to with draw. He said they would exhaust every effort and make every concession within reason in order to arrive at a peaceful solution. All sides agree that on the selection of a provisional President the success or failure of mediation depends. The Huerta delegates have suggested five names. The Americans have inform ally mentioned several but are wait ing for a complete list from the con stitutionalists through Washington. There Is evi dence to show that the explosion' was the work of suffragettes, and coming so close upon the bomb outrage in Westminster Abbey, the desecration of this famous edifice has increased alarm as to how far the militant women in tend to go. Fortunately the famous painting of "The Last Supper," by Sir James Thornhili, which hangs over the altar, was not damaged although the window above it was splintered.
