CHANGE OF IRREGULAR
CHARACTER IN MARKET
Tractions Were Not Favorably Affected by Declaration on
an Extra Dividend
By Associated Press
New York, June 10. Such changes
as occurred toward midday were of an
irregular character, the leaders for the
most part moving within minor frac
tions, although Reading reflected
further pressure, as did also New York
Central. American Smelting rose a
point and Distillers 1%, with heaviness
in some other specialties. The tractions
wore not favorably affected by declara
tion of an extra 5 per cent, dividend for
Interborough Rapid Transit, whose pre
ferred stock fell back a point. Another
gold engagement of $2,000,000 for Eu
rope was announced, making the aggre
gate of that movement thus far this
year close to $50,000,000.
Bonds were steady.
