Mrs. Francesco Villa, Who May Become "First Lady" of Mexico,
and Some of Her Friends on a Visit to El Paso, Texas, Hospital
Left to Right—Miss Conoe l-Vlcorl Sanchez, Mrs. Villa, Miss Teresa Sanches, Dr. 11. E. Stevenson, Head of the Red
SML?I , >r,>s at ® Paso; Miss Maria Sanchez, and Mrs. Y. del Campo, Head of the Red Cross Corps for Villa's Army.
This la one of the latest photographs of Mrs. Francesco Villa, whose husband just now seems to be the strong
est man among the constitutionalists in Mexico. Villa has shown he is more important than Carranza, and
many observers of the course of events below the Rio Grande predict that the outcome of the trouble will mean
his choice as president of the republic. In that event, Mrs. Villa will become the first lady of Mexico. She has
become an interesting figure. This photograph was taken wh&n she with several women friends visited the Sis
ters Hospital at El Paso, where many wounded of Villa's army have been cared for. Mrs. Villa and her friends
cheered these constitutionalist soldiers in their cots.
TRADING FALLS INTO
MORE PRONOUNCED RUT
Missouri Pacific Showed Temporary Weakness on Fears
Regarding Note Extension Plan
By Associated Press
New York, May 25. Trading fell In
to a more pronounced rut to-day, the
business of the first hour aggregating
11 tie moro than 27,000 shares. The ex
treme narrowness of the movement
may be judged from the fact that In
just one Instance —Reading—did any
of the leaders lluctuate as much as half
a point.
Missouri Pacific again showed tem
porary weakness on fears regarding
the outcome of the note extension plan.
Of the several railroads whose affairs
are said to be the subject of prospective
Federal inquiry, Baltimore and Ohio
alone was heavy. A rise of 2% points
in the Virginia debt certificates pointed
to the possibility of some early de
clson by the Supreme Court.
Bonds were Irregular.
