BLINDNESS OF VIRTUE The announcement of the appear ance of "The Blindness of Virtue" with the original Little Theater, London, i production at the Majestic Theater to- I day and to-morrow, with matinee to- ] morrow, has given rise to a great deal i of discussion from homes and women's ; I clubs. The play, which is by Cosmo Hamilton, is said to deal with a Ques tion that is of vital importance in every home, presenting, as it does, u strong indictment against the fashion of permitting children to grow up in ignorance of certain impulses.—Ad vertisement. RICHARD CARLE AND HATTHE WILLIAMS The sober, serious-looking Richard Carle is a bold, bad man in the new musical comedy, "The Doll Girl," in which he will appear at the Majestic Wednesday afternoon and evening with his co-star, Hattie Williams. He Is, in fact, a gay lotharlo and no one has any license to take him at his face value for bucolic innocence and sim plicity. Mr. Carle plays the role of a marquis, old enough to know better, but who will flirt. And flirting, even in plays, leads to trouble. But they have allowed the elongated comedian with the tall forehead to dance and most people will forgive him for any thing, even for being a marquis, pro viding that he gets busy with his lower limbs. The role is one in which the comedian is very amusing. Miss Wil liams is as happily cast as is her as sociate. She has the role of an Irish girl masquerading in Paris as a Span ish dancer.—Advertisement. "THE TRAIL OF THE IiOXESOME PINE" "The Trail of the Lonesome Pine," which is announced to appear at the Majestic Theater Thursday afternoon and evening, is a play that presents Eugene AValter's ability as a dramatist in a new light. It was no small task to take the widely read book of John Fox, Jr., and transfer to the stage the wild, untutored mountain girl, June, and the other delightful original char acters of the charming narrative. — Advertisement. BEAUTIES AT ORPHEUM I>asky's "Beauties," said to be just dreams of raving loveliness, the pret tiest girls on the American stage, who seem to have something on Lillian Russell —well, these are the players who Jesse L. Lasky has entrusted with the roles of his newest and most gor geous one-act miniature musical com edy called "The Beauties" that heads the next to the last bill of the season at the popular Locust street theater. This act is the most recent effort of Mr. Lasky's and in each city where it has been appearing the act has creat ed an attendance record. This is also true of last week's engagement, wheu the act held the coveted position of headliner at Keith's Theater in Phila delphia. The act is an elaborate one act musical comedy, gorgeously cos tumed, beautifully mounted, and em ploys a cast of some twenty players. It will likely create a small jubilee at the Orpheum this week. Some of the big names supporting this act will be Howard, Ratcliff & Co., Leßoy, Harvey & Co., Hershel Hendler, Will and Kemp, Boyle and Brazil, and one or [two other turns of merit.—Advertise ment. AT THE COLONIAL Comedy pla.vs an important part in the vaudeville offering that's to be un covered at the Colonial to-day. One of these features is a screeching com edy called "On the Rocks," introduc ing Anderson and Kvans; comedy, song and dance are happily blended in a turn to be offered by Hallen and Hun ter, while clever feats and many com edy surprises are called in during the act of Nolan and Nolan, comedy jug glers.—Advertisement. PALACE THEATER At the Palace Theater to-morrow Miss Gene Gauntier will be featured in a Warner three-reel drama of the Alaskan gold fields, entitled "She, of the Wolf's Breed." A unique picture, portraying the hardships of a good woman's trials and tribulations in fro zen Alaska, where man's fitness for supremacy Is measured by muscle, brawn and nerve; and where serenity and fearlessness are necessary for a woman to withstand the life among the gold-crazed man-beasts. "The Beggars of the Sacred Hearts," a four reel Trans-Oceanic feature, will also be shown. It's impossible to give you here even the faintest notion of Its splendor and power. It is a superb symposium of spectacular sensation and an amazing succession of breath less thrills, staged and acted with a orilllancy and vim almost beyond be lief. J. Warren Ker.rigan, the well-known star, is being featured to-day in a Victor two-reel drama, "Sealed Or ders." "Tito, the Terror," a thrilling detective drama in three reels, is also shown. "Auntie's Romantic Adven tures," a Crystal comedy, concludes the bill.—Advertisement. NEW PASTOR INSTALLED Special to 'I lie Telegraph Marietta, Pa., April 20.—The Rev. J. H.
