BULLISH SENTIMENT
CHILLED IN MARKET
Traders Found Buying to Be of Poor Quality and Widen
ed Their Selling
By Associated Press
New York, March 11. Bullish een
tlment was chilled by the appearance
of large celling order* to-day, when at
tempts were made to carry further yes
terday's rise, liquidation was renew
ed in American Sugar and the Eastern
railroad shares, anions which losses ran
from one to three points.
Traders found tne buying to be of
poor quallt yand widened their selling,
so that a large part of the list was
forced under yesterday's close. An
nouncement or the regular New York
Central dividend caused that stock to
rally over a point, and the whole list
became steadier toward noon.
Bonds were irregular.

Few Women Voted in
Illinois Yesterday
Chicago, 111., March 11.—The first
genera) primary throughout the State
since the enactment of the suffrage
law brought out only a light woman
voto yesterday. In many places, how
ever, suffrage organizations had
warned the women to remain away
from the polls in order to avoll Iden
tification with any political party.
In two cities, Canton and Carroll,
women were candidates for mayor.
Both were defeated.
In Yates City Republican men nomi
nated a woman for board president,
three women for trustees and women
for treasurer and clerk. No women
voted in the primary.
