GENTLEMAN :—We take much pleasure
in recomniending your Salamander Safes
to Merchants and others in want of a Se
cure means of preserving their books, pa
pers, &c., front fire, as the one we pur
chased from you about seven months since
has preserved our books, papers and cash
in as good a condition as they were
when put into it, before the great tire of
this morning, which destroyed the entire
block of buildings corner of Chestnut and
Fifth streets. The safe was in use in our
office, on the second floor of our building,
from which place it felt into the cellar, and
remained there until the fire was out.—
The Safe was then removed and °pane.]

who witnessed the good condition of the
contents. Will you please have the safe
and locks repaired, as we intend to put it
