to Merchants and others in want of a se
cure means of preserving their books, pa
pers, &e:, from fire, as the one the put.-
chased from you about seven months since
has preserved our hooks. papers and cash
in as good a condition as they were
when put into it, before the great fire of
this morning, which destroyed the entire
block of buildings corner of Chestnut and
Fiftli.,streets. •The safe was in use in our,
office, on the second door of our building.
from which ;dace it fell into the cellar, and
remained there until the fire was out.-

who witnessed the good condition of the
