this morning, which destroyed, the entire
block of buildings corner of Chestnut and
Fifth streets.. The safe was in.use in our
office, on the second floor of our building,
from which place it fell into the cellar, and
remained there until . the fire .was out.—
The Safe was then removed and opened
n the presence of at least 1000 persons,
who witnessed the good conditiop of the
