cure means of preserving their books, pa
pers, dt,, from fire; as the one we pur
chased (Anon about seven months since
has preserved - bur books, papers and cash
in as, good a condition as they *ere
when put into it, before the great fire of
this morning, which destroyed the entire
block of buildings corner of Chestnut and
Fifth streets. The safe was in use in our
office, on the second fluor of our building s
from which place it fell itittithe cellar, and
remained there until the fire was outi,—
The Safe was then removed and opened
n the presence of at least 1000 persons,
Who witnessed the good condition of the
contents.' Will you please have the safe
and locks repaired, as we intend to put it
in use again, having perfect ~confidence
its fire-proof qualities.
