STATEMENT OF REV, F.. R. WARR EN.•

CL) relative to Myers F.stract of Rock Rose
To the American Psibfte. As my name has
b ee n used in connexion with recommendations of
Mr. Myers' Rock Rose Syrup, in various adver
tisements, by the manufacturer, I heir leave to
make the following statement with reference to
my acquaintance wiljt the remedy and teats of
which I have subjected it, and the reasons for
having introduced it to the notice of private friends
In the community in which I reside. long before
the medicine was advertised. I make this state
ment freely, because I have as a principle, with
held my name from ■Il patent medicines, and sedu
;nutty abstained from recommending them to the
public, believing them frequently the spawn or
quackery and humbug, and es tending to increase,
instead of lessening human disease and suffering.
much, I fear, is the character of a large portion of
the patent panaceas of this inedirine-melting age.
"Their MIMS is legion," and from their influence,
as from the demonical spirite, we have reason in.
prry_for a safe delivershce.
The Fire Teti.—l had myself suffered ores-
aionally with sudden attacks o v fetick Headeehe and
Bilious Diarrhea, and I had *ought a great vat iety
of curative agents to but little purito,e ; and std.
tering from this disease (thairhea) at this time,
determined. to test the new Syrup first upon my
self. The results mete beyond my expectation.
ft was s powerful alterative, and the morbid ac
tion of ths system was changed, and the functions
of secretion here restored to a healthy mate. It
gave bole and elantirity to my system, and cor
rected the derangement of the digrative organ.,
and gave me that inestimable heisting—stn. - re.

Other Teas.—Finding this medicine so useful
to myself. I at once gave it to several invabl
friends. About this time, I was earnestly solicited
to give advice in reference to a child. some eight
years of age. The child was severely afflicted
with a Scrofula humor, of a very severe type. tho
humor showing itself on all toots of the Purim . ..,
and then suddenly disappearing. 't he child woe

she would live. The humor TeeeMil:ed Mack

other remedies, I gave the child this Syrup for n
bout Az weeks. when she had sufficient strength
to go out to school occasionally. The swelling
of her hail,* ceased, and she ,was restored to
health The family !eel that they owe her lite,
with Grubs blessing, to my remedies.

Dr. Slalom:, A Scotch Botanist, of notoriety,

use in Canada. Returning to England, be em•

greatly celebrated for the cure of similar diseases.
Dr. Isaac Paris/r o of Philadelphia, remarks that
it has been succusfulty used in bad cases of
Scrofulous disuses.
Dr. J. 11. Thompson, of the same place, prescrib
ed it in bad cases of Scrofulous patients at Wills'
Hotel. His success attracted the attention of
senior physicians. He reports the following /V

and had the disease for three years. b.Tbe bone
