Dr. Bolos says that in the months of Nrireutleir
end December, he has seen hundreds of these
plants, aending out, near their roots, broad, thin,

ease, and through hint its virtues warm sande
known, until, as Dr. Tyler says, "it Is hair in
this section [New Haven) a common ardelein
mestic practice for the cure of SCrOlgill and ma
tenuous diseases."
Dr. ll'hafois, A Scotch Botanist, of notoriety,
while traveling in America, in 1824, learned its
use in Canada. itelurning to England, be em
ployed it in medicating his baths, which bemone
greatly celebrated for the cute of similar disesees.
.Dr. haat Parish, of Philadelphia, remarks that
it has been successfully used in bed castle of
Scrofulous diseases.
Dr. J. H. Thompson, of the someplace, prearib•
ed it in bad cases of Scrofulous patients at Wills'
Hotel. His success attracted the attention. of
senior physicians. He reports the following re=
markahle case of White Swelling of lb* hip, in
February, 1844: The lad was seven pelts old,
and had the disease for three years. The bone
was dislocated upward and outward. Therevese
a large opening nn the hip leading to the bone,
into which I could thrust my finger. I emerged
three ulcers. He hail been under several phy
sicians, who had given him up. I ordered a de
coction of Rock Rose. In two days hie night
sweats ceased ; I then ordered a tea spoonbill of
Rock Rose three times a day. THIRTY-NINE
DAYS after he was I:NTIRFLY WELL.
Dr. Webb, of Afadtson,Ct. testifies to the value
of Rock Rose, as evinced in the cure of numerous
cases of the Scrofula, especially in children.
Dr. S. Fuller, of Hartford, Ct. administered the
Rock Rose to a Scrofulous female, in which the
anti•scrofulous remedies had been applied with•
out success. The disease was fully arrested by it.
The Rock Rose is a plant of rare medicinal'
virtues, • and unrivalled as a curative agent in
Scrofulous diseases. I cannot but express the de
sire, in closing this statement, that it may be found
to 'omen the sufferings of our diseased and dying
humanity
