LIFE INSURANCE
3NATITY . 4- TRUST COMP.INI
CAPITAL $230,000-CAH SYSTEM
THE constant, unsolicited applications!
for Life Insurance. furnish the most
abundant and gratifying proof, that the!
public mind is deeply impressed with the j
vast importance of this subject. The great!
object, however, of insurance, should be
safety ; otherwise the whole motive to iu j
sure may be disappointed. Too much
care cannot be practiced in the selection of!
an office, with which to etTect the contract. j
The choice should be regulated, not by
present and constant large inducements, as :
this is certainly incompatible with future,
benefits. The premiums on life aro cal
culated for the future. If present and pro- ,
pective benefits, therefore, are giveu, the.
result, ultimately, must terminate in
Inti
gatiou, disappointment and ruin. The oh.
ject aimed at in this institution is stability
and perpetuity. The rates of premium';
have been carefully prepared with refer-i
to fluctuations. '1 he cash system
has also been adopted. Unpaid premium
notes constitute no part of the nasals of
this Company, and every contingency be
tog fortified with sin ample capital, seen
' rity stamps the whole system. This lea
tare, paramount to all other considerations,
commends the company to public favor.
Explanatory pamphlets, blanks, appli
cation papers. information, and every ft

Important to Housekeepers !
THE IMPROVED DOUBLE OVEN
Lilblidelr 8 P.ITENT
COOKING STOVE.
IV WO SIZES are now constantly kept
-IL for sale in Gettysburg, at ANDREW
POLLEY'S Tin Shop, and in Lill&down
at JOSEPH BARKER'S Tavern. They
are proven to be the best stoves now in
use, for cooking, baking, roasting, and
(or warming a house, with less wood than
any other stove, and are the heaviest in
the casting, for the size, of any now made.
They are warranted to bake well in both
ovens. Any person wanting these'stoves
delivered, Ly leaving word at either of the
above mentioned places, the proprietor
will deliver them at a short notice, as he
intends doing the peddling principally
himself. Ile is confident that he can give
people better satisfaction than hired ped
lars. There are already upwards of SIX
HUNDRED of the Lanhaelt Stoves sold
in York, Adams, and Carroll counties,
within two years, hut not so many or the
late improvements. The improvement is
in the middle floe, by which the lower
oven is much easier heated, and the holes
are larger on the tops, to put on larger
pots. We deem it unnecessary to say
more about them, but want people who
are judges of cooking stoves to examine
thuroughly, and we are confident that
they will find that they have advan
tages over any other stove now in
use, and according to the quality and
weight, than any that are offered to the
public. They are likewise kept for sale
at the Proprietor's Foundry, near Dills
burg, York county, Pa.
