These men have taken a bold stand, in the
face of the Presidents opposition, without
consulting other minds than their own, but
panning a coarse indirect hostility to the
great masses of the people north and south.
Their action io relation to forcing negro suf
frage upon the District of Columbia, against
the expressed will of the people at the bal
Jot-box, is revolutionary io its tendency and
the boldest exhibition of tyranny ever prac
ticed in this or any other couatry. This
