(quite a tiamber of horse and wagons stolen
in this section of ccuniry. Tba Luzerne
and Montour county papers contain accounts
of several, thefts of that character, wh ch
fcave been committed quite recently. We
have jaet been informed that a horse and
boggy was stolen from one ol our farmers,
oa tbe sooth side of the river in this county,
few nights ago. Tbe particulars we
di not learn.

Monday. No caoes were tried on thit day ;
all teemed to be busy in preparation. There
are eeveral important canses to be tried.

The Election case from Roaringcreek twp
was tried on Tuesday. It -was like this:
Charles Eck, one of the- Inspectors of the
Election, refused to receive a vote from
legal elector of that township, on fhs
ground that the elector, Mr. Fry, bad cot
complied with tba conscription act when be
(Fry) wai drafted ; consequently, by lata
cl of CoDgress, was deprived of citizen
hip; which prevented bim (Fry) from be
itg a voter. For rejecting this' tote Eck
er-j prosecuted, and found guilty, in man
Titr and form as be stood indicted, by the
Jury. The counsel for the defendant bave
