TEEBEST TAPER IXT'JIE WORLD. S.Wood, Ed. andjPropiietor The Democracy of the North will com mit a fatal error if they accent the result of he lat Presidential election as an indica tion from the hand of Destiny to relax i . - i . l"Pir r''i'cai ""ion uni.i tne op-n,nj o i i, novt n i m r- . tl j .. tthe next campaign. The future wellare o the republic depends upon the politic a zeal and activity of the Democracy during th year 1865. The small msioriiv of the oonnlar vote that elected the Black Republican candi dates, considered in view of iheexiraordi nary resources of the Administration for corruption and cpmpulsion, attests that the power of the Democracy, on a fair field, is equal to thX vindication of Democratic principles. There is one feature in the result of the Presidential eleciion that goes far to re concile the patriot to the hard fate of hi country nnder four years more of Elack Republican misrule. The balefuf meteor that lingered rn grief while in onr political atmophere has vanished for ever. War Democracy has fulfilled its mission of dis organization, and like any other pestilence will be remembered only for the evil it has done. The issue now before the people is the final simsgla between Centeralizaiion and States' Rights, and no journal i Democrat ic that. is not the devoted champion of States' Rights, the paramount priucip; of the Democratic faith. The New York News needs no tetimony beyond its plain ntialterable record to sub stanliate its claim to being and having rven the most earnest, able and consistent States' Rights Journal in the land. We have no excuses to invent for modifications of sentiment, nor have we to pU a J "ex pediency" in palliation of inconsistency. Onr paih ha been straight forward. Our columns are belore the people, not a line in thetn that we would cancel nors?nti ment we wonld recall, not an as.-erooo that requires an explanation, not a word that we regret io have ut'ered, not a prin ciple advocafed that we have not stood by and will stand by to the last. Such has been our pa.-t record, so will be our Inture. We do not, however, a:k the Democracy to sustain us in our mission as a reward for the service we have done, but in con sideration ol the zood work that we pro pose to do. The Nw York News for 1865 will not merely imitate in predecessors, it will excel them. It shall be not only the fuest exponent cf Democratic principle, but the best newspaper in the country. Heretoore it has had no superior a a ve- mete oi news, nereaner it snail nave no equal. In every department of journalim we have arrannf that the News shall dis tance competition. It is the only Demo cratic newspaper in the metropolis that has the advantage of publishing a daily issue with the full dispatches of the Associated Press, and iherefore its machinery for fur Dishing a complete record of events is more perfect than that ot any of i"s Demo cratic cotemporaries. None havp a'tempi ed latterly, to compete with it in the publi cation ot Souther.i intelligence, as cur system of exchange with Sonthem journals baffles the sagacity and enterprise of our rivals. A glance at the columns of The News devoted to "Southern and Northern per sonal' will remark the extraordinary suc cess that has atfended our enterprise in that direction. We are in daily receipt of let;ers expressiiis thethank of those who, thronsh the medium of the ''Personal' in fi i . x ne iews, na ve Deen er.aoieu to receive tidings from their friends and relatives in the South, and the heart of many an exile and wanderer has been gladdened through that instrumentality by words of affection and hope from those monrned for as dead The New York News h8 teco'ne so popular in the rural district- that other Me tropolitan j .umals, in publ hini their 6tereot) ped boast of 4iihe largest circula tion of any weekly journal" are constrain ed to make an exception in our favor It is a significant circumstance that since the Presidential election and consequent de mise of War Derr.ocracy, the subscriptions to this paper havp teen unusually numer ous. The Agricultnra' Department of The New York News renders it an invariable companion and assistant to the fanner ; and its Cattle, Market and Produce Re ports are more reliable and full than those of any ether journal. , The Daily News will forfeit one thou sand dollars if, in the above Departm ent, competent judge should deny us superi ority. " . Important TO ALL 1R0!V IN THE BLOOD. It is well known to the medical profes sion that Iron is the vi.al Principle or Life Element of the blood. This is derived chiefly from the food we eat ; but if the focd is not properly digested, or if, from any cause whatever, ihe necessary quan tity ol iron is not taken into the circulation or becomes reduced, the whole system suf lers. The bad blood will irritate the heart will clog up the lungs, will stupefy the brain, will obstruct the liver, and will sent) its disease producing elements to all pari of the system, and every one w:U suffer in whatever organ may be predisposed to dis ease. The great value of IRON AS A MEDICINE Is well known and ackno'i ledged by all medical men. The diflicul'y has oeer. to obtain such a preparation of it as will en ter the circulation and assimilate at once with the blood.
