According 10 the original advertised
plan, a Mass Meetiug of the ticket hold
era was held in Fauenil Hall, Boston, on
Nov., 4th, and an adjourned meeiina at
ihe same place on Dec., 16th. The fol
lowing named gentlemen were elected as
a Board of t rustees, to receive the funds
which may accrue Irom the novel enter
prise, and to appropriate the same to this
object in accordance wiih lue plans of the
oriainator ; Gen. John S. Tyler, Boston ;
his Excellency Governor James Y. Smith,
of Rhode Hand; Hon. Geo. Brises of New
York 7 his Excellency Gov. A. G. Curtin of
Pennsylvania, Major Gen N. P. Banks, of
Mass., Major Gen. O. O. Howard of Maine,'
his Excellency Gov. Richard Yaies, of
Illinois.
To speedily accomplish this great ob
ject, every wise means will be used by
the projector to effect the immediate sale
of Ihe tickets; and he calls upon he loyal
and humane 10 assist earnestly in cairying
(his noble undertaking forward to a trium
phaiil success.
