days as aforesaid shall be entitled to vole,
although they shall not have paid tax.
"No person shall be permitted lo vote
whose name is not contained in the list
taxable inhabitants, furnished by the Com
missioners, oi.les : First, he produce a
receipt of payment, within two years ol
State or County lax assessed' asreeably lo
the Constitution, and "ive sati-factory evi
dence on his own oath or affirmation ol
another that he baa paid t-uoh a lax, or in
failure lo prince areceipl shall make oath
to the payment thereof , or second, if he
claim a rigbt to vote by bf ing an elector
between the age of tweuty-one and twenty-two
years shall depose on oath or affirm
ation, thai he has resided in the State al

trict as is required by this act, and that he
does verily believe Irorn the account given '
him that he is of ihe age aforesaid, and
given such other evidence . as is required
by ihis act, whereupon the name of the
person m admitted to vote shall be inserted
in the alphabetical list by the Inspector,
and a note made opposite thereto by writ
ing the word "tax," if he shall be admitted
to vote by reason of bavin; paid lax, and
the word 'age" if he shall ba admitted to
vote by reason of age, and in either case
the reason of such a vo'e shall be called
out to the clerks, who shall make a like
note in Ihe bsl of voters kepi t y ihern.

list furnished by the Commissioners, or his
rihl to vote whether found thereon or not,
