DEEMED lN COIN, at the pleasure of the
Government, at any period not less than
ten nor "Wore than forty years from their

PER CENT. INTEREST WILL BE PAID
IN CPIN, on Bonds ol not over one hun
dreti dollars annually and on all other
Bonds semi-annually. The interest i pay
able on the first days of March and Sep
tember in each year.
Subscribers will receive either' Reais
lered orCoopon Bonds, as they' may pre
fer. Registered Bonds are recorded on the
books of the U. S. Treasurer, and can be
transferred o-.ly on the owner's order
Coupon Bonds are payable to bearer, and
are more convenient for' commercial uses.

option of hitving their Bonds draw inter est
from March 1st, ty paying the accrued iri
terest in coin (or in United Stales notes,

recent increase of the. tariff will doubtless
raise the annual recipis from customs on
