Counterfeit Fiftt Cent Notes Many persons do not know the counterfeit fifty cent postaf currency from the genuine. There are marks on the spurious that,' il observed, will at once show the counterfeit. On the counterfeit the final '"E" in the words "U. S. Postage," over the head of Wahiug'on. is dropped, and the first letter ''S" in the wo'id . 'Treasurer's" extends higher op than the other letters. Another test is that in the spurious the Y" in the word "Depository" does not touch the border-on the back of note. Attention to these directions will prevent persons being im pose J upon by the counterfeit. We are pleased to learn of the honorable promotion of our young friend Thomas S.
