Major Wh. B. Koons, of the "Exchange

We notice some of our Republican ex
changes have much to Fay about the "re
suscitation ol the locoloco prty " They
seem to fear that party and to keep it down
is their whole object. The Republic par
ly has given evidai.ee of short life; one by
one the leaders of that party are being
swamped under the heavy masses of cor
ruption wrought out by them. Some new
name must hurriedly be applied, The
stench of Republicanism is becoming too
offensive to the nostril of the masses of
that party. Many aru ready to seek shel
ter and protection under the guidance of
the old democratic party, which has always
been the true constitutional party of the
country. : '
Tut Republican of this place while giving
Toodles' antecedents" might have added
the fact that John C Fremont, who appears
to be a great favorite ol the Republican, was
once tried before a Court-Martial, and had
his guilt been clearly established no donbt
would have received the penally of his
crime, by being ordered out and 6hot;yet
this same Fremont some limes writes Mili
tary Proclamations, which he invariably is
compelled to modify. According to the Re
publican's estimation of men5who have been
arraigned before a Court, a proper allowance
should be made upon what th'19 man Fre
mont writes for publication, military, polit
ical or otherwise.
Pat the Printer -To those of onr patrons
in arrears we would say. come forward and
pay the printer." To many we have sent
our paper for four years without receiving
anything, and to ihose, in particular, we
would say 'pay the printer" and iave trouble.
They shocld have the satisfaction ol know
ing thauibey were reading their cwa paper
and not curt All in arrea for vne year or
more we wiih to pay us Ly May Court, as we
have money to raie and must h ive il ' There
are a few who are in the habit of paying us
in advance and receiving the paper at our
advance price. To those we would say if
they wish the. paper continued at the ad
vance price, thej rauil be more punctual
and nay at the commencement. Those
owing us for publishing administrator's no
tices and sales of real estate, kc, are also
expected to call and settle their account.
